The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), Ganjam district unit, observed the Condemnation Day (Dhikar Diwas) here on Tuesday against the callous attitude of the State Government in re-introducing pass-fail system in schools from Class-I to VIII and dillydallying in abolishing the Block Grant system.
AIDSO district president Sibani Sankar Mishra alleged that as the State Government even after giving assurance is not fulfiling the demands of the teachers under various pleas, leading to a miserable state of the education.
Talking about the pass-fail system, he said the State Government in 2009 had abolished the system from Class I to VIII. He also said that the students are not able to indentify letters and are unable to do simple additions and subtractions, which show the extent the standard of education had gone down. Among others, AIDSO State VP Somnath Behera, district secretary Nimai Charan Sahu and VP Udhav Mohan Kuda were present.
