Indians are as scared of Narendra Modi as they would be of star bandit Gabbar Singh of Sholay, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday while launching a scathing attack on the Prime Minister for trying to create war hysteria ahead of the hustings by “distracting people’s attention from his failures to bombs, missiles and guns.”
Banerjee told a gathering at Howrah, how instead of concentrating on the real issues facing the country, the Prime Minister was diverting the popular attention towards external threats.
Referring to Indian armed forces’ success in handling threats emanating from Pakistan, Banerjee said, “We are with the Army, we are with the Navy, we are with the Air Force, we are with the civilisation, peace, culture, unity but we are not with Modi Babu. None is with him. In fact, people are now afraid of Modi Babu as they used to be in context of Gabbar Singh.”
Attacking the Prime Minister for showering new projects Banerjee said “who is he to launch new projects when his Government has passed its expiry date.
