Golf for business, Haryana tells Korean investors

To develop better business relations with Korean Investors, Haryana government has come out with an out of box idea. Haryana Government  has decided to organise ‘The India Korea Golf Meet’ on  July 19 at Gurugram to develop better business relations with Korean Investors through game of golf.

Chief Executive Officers (CEOs)  of 25 top Korean companies and representatives of Korean Embassy along with Secretaries from Government of India and Departments of Haryana Government will participate in this event.

A government statement said that usually seminars and conferences are organised for developing business relations but promoting Korean investment through golf is innovative and out of box idea of the Haryana Government.

Invest India, a national investment promotion and facilitation agency and Government of Haryana are the organisers of this event. On behalf of the state government, Department of Industries and Commerce  will make arrangements for organising the game and the venue is DLF Golf and Country Club on Golf Course Road in DLF-5 of Gurugram.

Additional Chief Secretary,  Industries and Commerce, Devender Singh said that  the India-Korea Golf Meet is a unique opportunity for Korean companies to engage with the Haryana government regarding their interests and issues over an engaging game of golf. The date of event is July 19 and timings of the game are from 6 am to 1 pm. He said that Invest India, Korea Plus, Korean International Trade Association (KITA) and Haryana Enterprises Promotion Centre (HEPC)  are associates in organising this unique ‘Golf Meet’.

‘Korea Plus’ is the gateway for Korean investors in India. It acts as a one-stop agency for Korean investors and works closely with the embassies, central and state governments, industrial associations and corporates to generate leads and facilitate Korean investments.

The team provides business advisory and facilitation to more than a hundred Korean companies in a span of just two years of its existence. Korea Plus not only gives facts-based inputs for decision-making but also provides handholding facilitation support to execute Korean investments.

He said that Haryana Enterprises Promotion Centre (HEPC) is a ‘Single Window Clearance System’ for the benefit of the new units or units under expansion.

The single-window facility aims to simplify procedures and facilitate ease in doing business with the State supported by state-of-the-art Technology platform.

The key objective of HEPC is to make Haryana as a pre-eminent investment destination and facilitate balanced regional and sustainable development supported by a dynamic governance system, wide-scale adoption of innovation & technology, and skill development for nurturing entrepreneurship and generating employment opportunities.

Devender Singh said that Secretaries of Government of India and Departments of Haryana Government have been invited to play with Korean Investor’s Team, including CEO of NITI Ayog Amitabh Kant, Secretary of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Anand Kumar, Secretary of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Head Corporate Propriety of National Skill Development Mission (NSDM) Archana Singh. Some MoUs might be signed on that day after the game, Singh added.
