A film Kai Po Che! was screened marking the second day of children’s film festival. The film was screened here on Friday.
Kai Po Che is a 2013 Indian buddy drama film directed by Abhishek Kapoor based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. with music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by Swanand Kirkire. Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh star as the three main protagonists while Amrita Puri plays the female lead.
The film title Kai Po Che! is originally a Gujarati phrase that means ‘I have cut’ which refers to Makar Sankranti (known as Uttarayan in Gujarat) where one of the competitors uses his kite to cut off another competitors kite and yells Kai Po Che!
The movie starts with the best friends Ishaan, Omi and Govind; young, ambitious and restless are trying to make a mark in the India of the early 2000s.
These are exciting times a new millennium has just dawned, India’s a nuclear power and ostensibly shining a perfect place for the 3 Ahmedabad boys to start a business that could be their ticket to fame and riches.
