Stationary bus catches fire in city

A stationary private bus caught fire at the Baramunda bus-stand here on Wednesday. Fortunately, there were no passengers in the vehicle.

A bus named ‘Chokadola’ was parked at the bus-stop when the fire broke out in the vehicle. The blaze quickly spread and engulfed the entire bus.

The mishap triggered widespread panic among people present at and near the incident scene as several other buses were parked at the bus terminal when the fire broke out.

On getting information, two Fire Services teams rushed to the spot to douse the flames. But by that time, the entire bus was gutted. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
