Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and Member of Parliament (MP, Manoj Tiwari along with North-West Delhi MP, Hans Raj Hans on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of biomethanation plant at North Delhi Municipal Corporation’s Bhalaswa Dairy, Shradhanand Colony
The project is funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for animal waste treatment plant for production of electricity and CNG.
On the occasion, Deputy Mayor, Yogesh Verma said that Bhalaswa being Dairy colony is dung is disposed into a drain that is in enormous quantity which till now was not being utilized and disposed into the drains which is hazardous for the living beings.
“Now, the dung would be processed and genuinely disposed in the environment friendly manner.
This treatment plant would be set up by the Government of India to produce electricity and CNG. The cow dung which was considered a waste, will now be put for the generation of electricity and CNG,” said Verma adding that many health problems will vanish in the fore coming days with the setting up of this treatment plant.
Chairman of the Standing Committee, Jai Prakash said that North DMC is making all out efforts to improve the environment by adopting latest technology and ideas.
“Processing of garbage and cow dunk is the most important. North Corporation is putting its resources to get maximum waste processed to improve environment,” he said.
