TV channel-stinged BJP MP Udit faces Congress criticism

Friday, 05 April 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Delhi Congress criticised the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) sitting Member of Parliament Udit Raj who was allegedly caught in a TV sting operation by a private TV channel in which he reportedly accepted that he used black money in election campaigning in 2014 Lok Sabha election.

Delhi Congress working president Rajesh Lilothia referring to a sting operation by a TV channel said the sting operation has proved that Modi and the BJP were fully immersed in corruption.

Lilothia said that in the sting operation, Udit Raj has admitted that he had paid money and gave liquor bottles to the BJP workers for doing his 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign, which clearly shows that not only the BJP leaders, but also the workers were fully involved in corruption.

He demended the Election Commission to take cognisance of the sting operation against Udit Raj, should register a case against him for corruption, and he should also be disqualified from contesting the coming Lok Sabha elections.
