A workshop on creating Ganesh idols from clay began at the Environment Planning and Coordination Organization (EPCO) campus in Bhopal today.
The workshop was inaugurated by Executive Director of EPCO, Jitendra Singh Raje with the lighting of the lamp.
Executive Director Raje said on this occasion that the public should take care of the environment with religious sentiments, by using an idol made of clay during Ganeshotsav.
He said that the use of idols made of clay using natural colours should be encouraged to avoid the ill-effects of PoP. He urged the public to immerse the clay idols at home.
EPCO has organized training workshops from August 13 in various places of Bhopal city, especially in schools and colleges.
In these workshops, more than 5 thousand students, teachers and citizens were imparted training to make clay Ganeshs.
EPCO has prepared an awareness programme to persuade more than 10 thousand families in the state to install and immerse green Ganesh at home this year.
The workshop, which started on Tuesday at the EPCO Parisar situated in Shahpura, Bhopal will continue till August 31.
Participants will be given information regarding making of clay idols of Ganesha from 12 noon to 6 pm daily during the workshop.
During the training, participants can also take part in a selfie competition organized by the State Public Service Authority and EPCO by taking a selfie with the Ganesh idols they have created.
This facility has been provided free of cost at the training site.
