Some movies are made out of nothing, conveying nothing and thinking nothing about the amount of waste they produce. Holly Slept Over tops in that segment. A thoughtless, disastrous comedy-drama propelling sexual adventurism to save a sagging marriage where sex has become boring and a tool to somehow have babies, it is a romp in the bed by a committed couple and the wife’s lesbian girlfriend who stops over for a night after 12 years of a breakup.
Other than the protagonists being extremely pretty, the house where the action takes place being sexy, the neighbours having their own between the sheets issues with yucky outcomes, there is nothing in the movie that will keep you interested, or let me say not get you irritated.
Holly (girlfriend) breezes into the couple’s home with not even a blink, sleeps straight seven hours, gets up all decked up and her friend’s husband proposing a threesome! They agree and do it without wasting any time or sparing a thought to even their viewers. And then it is all over, Holly leaves, the couple rocks and the neighbours too learn to live, well, between the sheets once in a while.
Who, how, what, why? Don’t look for answers in this one which much too casually degrades the entire institution of marriage, fidelity and the works.
Can be totally ignored even on a very idle week day or week-end.
