The Raipur district administration decided on Saturday to implement a 'home isolation' system for Covid-19 patients in the capital as a pilot project.
District Collector Dr. S. Bharathi Dasan has issued detailed guidelines in this regard, an official statement said.
Initially, this will be implemented for doctors only.
The district Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) team will examine air ventilation and other parameters of the patient’s house before suggesting home isolation.
The Health Department team will stick an official sticker on the house selected for home isolation, the statement said.
During home isolation, a health worker or attendant will remain in continuous touch on phone with the patient.
In the case of breathlessness or any emergency, the district administration will arrange for the patient’s admission in a nearby dedicated Covid-19 hospital, the communiqué said.
During home isolation, the family members and neighbours will be counselled. No outsider will be allowed to enter the house.
If the health and safety guidelines are violated, the patient will face stern action under the law.
Home isolation system will be widely implemented if the Raipur pilot project becomes a success.
