Voluntary organisation SAKAR with the support of the Zomato and the ActionAid has distributed 156 dry ration kits each containing 10 kg of rice and 2 kg of pulses at Radha Krushna Tala Basti and Jharana Basti on Friday, as a part of Zomato Feeding India.
Daily wage earners who have no ration card and have not received any support from the Government were given the kits. They have lost earning sources since March 2020 due to Covid lockdown.
ActionAid Regional Manager Debabrat Patro, SAKAR vice-president EK Patro, secretary Swarupa Rani, CCWD secretary Sadashiv Swain and social activists SP Adinarayan, DV Gopal Krishna, Dr CVL Srinivas, Dr Somburu Sovara
participated in distribution works. All involved were wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. Maa Jhadeswari Club secretary LV Kumar of Jharana Basti and Jaisitaram of Radha Krushna Basti thanked the three organisations.
Rani conveyed gratefulness to the ActionAid, Bhubaneswar, the facilitator of Zomato relief for urban migrants and all the members of Maa Jhadeswari Club, Jharana Basti and Omkar and his team for their active participation.
