Staffer kills self at Congress HQ, suicide note found

A 45-year-old staff member at Congress office in Delhi was found hanging at the servant quarter of the office, situated at 24, Akbar Road on Sunday. Police said they have also recovered a suicide note which reveals that he was depressed due to marital discord.

The deceased has been identified as Prakash Singh. According to a senior police official, on Sunday a PCR was received from Prakash’s brother who told police that his brother has kept himself locked inside his room since July 17.

“Acting on the call, a police team was dispatched for the spot. On reaching the spot, the police team found Prakash hanging in his room. The room was latched from inside,” said the senior police official.

“Police also recovered a suicide note which reveals that he was depressed due to marital discord. The body has been shifted to a mortuary in Ram Manohar Lohia hospital,” he said.
