In a shocking incident, two boys engaged in playing PUBG, a popular online game, were crushed to death by a goods train on the single Mathura-Kasganj track in Laxmi Nagar area. Police rushed to the spot on being informed about the incident. They said one of the mobile phones was damaged but the other had the game still running when it was recovered.  The boys were on a walk when the accident occurred.

SHO of Jamunapar Shashi Prakash Singh said, “We do not know exactly which train crushed the boys. The victims were identified as Gaurav Kumar (14), a class X student of Guru Nanak Dev Public School; and his neighbour Kapil Kumar (14), a class X student of BGB Braj Education Academy Senior Secondary School.

Some passersby informed the police about the incident. Gaurav’s father Rahul Kumar, who is into dairy business, said his son went for a walk.

“Today was the first day when he went for a walk as I wanted him to make it a routine, but now he is gone,” Rahul said. He had taken along his father’s mobile phone.

Kapil, who lived some yards away from Gaurav’s house, was accompanying him. “We have no idea about this game. Had I been aware of it, I would have never given him the mobile phone,” Kapil’s father Sanjay Kumar, also a businessman, said.

Meanwhile, in another tragic incident in Hardoi, a bullion trader killed his daughter and wife by slitting their throats before ending his life. According to reports, 32-year-old bullion trader Anoop Sharma first killed his 4-year-old daughter Bitto and 30-year-old wife Deepa Sharma by slitting their throats. He then hanged himself to death.

At the time of the incident, Anoop’s father Sudhish Sharma had gone to a relative’s place in Kannauj along with his wife.  When they returned home on Saturday evening, they were shocked to find the bodies.

SP, Hardoi, Ajay Kumar said the bodies were sent for autopsy. Initial probe suggested that the incident could be a fallout of some domestic discord, he added.
