City reports 72 deaths, 11,491 new Covid cases

At least 72 people succumbed to the Covid-19 with fresh 11,491 coronavirus cases recorded in the national capital, the health department of the Delhi Government said on Monday.

The positivity rate stands at 12.44 per cent. The 11491 new infections pushed the tally to 736688, while 687238 patients have recovered from the virus. The active cases reached to 38095 on Monday, according to the health bulletin issued by the health department.

As per the bulletin, the number of people under home isolation rose to 19354. A total of 92397 tests, including 65564 RT-PCR tests and 26833 Rapid Antigen Test conducted a day ago, the bulletin said.

The containment zones rose to 6175 on Monday, it said. At least 74397 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.

Amid a rise in coronavirus cases, Additional Chief Secretary (Power)/ Nodal officer (COVID) chaired a meeting through video conferencing to review the status of COVID-19 and progress in COVID-19 vaccination. Delhi Chief Secretary chaired a meeting to review deaths due to COVID-19.
