HP CM pays tribute to martyrs of Pulwama attack

Shimla: Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Sunday paid tribute to personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who were martyred in a major terror attack in Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on February 14, 2019. He said this day was indeed  a black day in the history of India, when Indian soldiers were martyred in one of the worst terror attacks. Thakur said their supreme sacrifice would always be remembered.

Hry to explore possibility of boating, rafting

Chandigarh: Haryana Tourism Minister Kanwar Pal said that to promote tourism in the state, the possibilities of boating and rafting on the Tajewala and Hathni Kund Barrage on the lines of Kerala will be explored. The Minister is on a tour to Kerala. He said during his tour, he is looking at the places developed in different districts in Kerala and gathering information about facilities being offered by the state to the tourists at these tourist spots. The Minister said it was being analysed as to how these schemes can be implemented in Haryana so as to promote tourism in the state.

3L students participate in competitions

Chandigarh: Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Sunday said that to celebrate the 400th parkash purb of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the State Government has been organizing several programs and the Education Department has also been taking part actively in these programs. The department has continuously been organizing turban tying, Shabad Gayan, Poem Reciting, Speech competition, PPT making, songs singing, poster making, painting, slogan writing, instrument playing, and calligraphy competitions in government schools in which as many as three lakh students participated.

Saraswati Mahotsav 2021 begins in Hry

Chandigarh: The International Saraswati Mahotsav-2021 began on Sunday in Haryana. A seminar will be organized on February 15 which will be attended by Chief Minister Manohar Lal. The event will be held from 10 am to 5 pm in the auditorium of Vidya Bharati Educational Institute. In this seminar, the discussion will be held on 'The New Perspective and Heritage Development of Saraswati River'  a spokesman said. On the concluding day on February 16, 21-Kund Havan Yagya will be organised at Saraswati Tirth, Pehowa in the morning and Bhajan Sandhya will be held in the evening.

Water of Ganga to be provided to 10 l houses

Chandigarh: Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa said many people will be unable to take a dip in the holy water during Kumbh Mela due to COVID-19, thus, the Gayatri family has decided to provide the pious water of Ganga river to 10 lakh houses. At a programme organised on the foundation day of Gayatri Shaktipeeth and Sanskarashala in Hisar, he said the Gayatri family of Hisar has been following this ideology and has been involved in socio-religious work for several years.
