Int’l conference on human rights held at DNLU

The International Conference on 'Changing Dimensions of Human Rights in Globalised World', concluded here on Sunday at Dharmashastra National Law University. The session began with the warm welcome by Veena Roshan Jose (coordinator of the conference).

Afterwards, in the valedictory session Prof. Balraj Chauhan, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor gave his welcome address to the chief guest of the ceremony, Justice Prakash Shrivastava, Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh, and other dignitaries, Prof. Paramjit Jaswal, Vice Chancellor, SRM University, Haryana, Prof. Nishtha Jaswal, Vice Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla, Mizanur Rehman, Professor of Law, University of Dhaka & Former Chairman, NHRC, Bangladesh and Nirmala Buch, IAS (Retd.). Prof. Balraj demonstrated his privilege to welcome the chief guest of the ceremony and other eminent personalities on behalf of entire DNLU fraternity. Furthermore, Prof. Balraj provided his concluding remarks of the ceremony.

He quoted that the present shift towards borderless global market economy, global cultural bazar shopping, financial worker and workplace are new dimensions where the issues and implications of Human Rights are emerging and creating consciousness on the emerging rights there with the society.

Afterwards, the best 10 papers were selected for the presentation in 2 plenary sessions before the experts. The first panel comprises Ms. Nirmala Buch, IAS (Retd.), Prof. Paramjit Jaswal Vice Chancellor, SRM University, Haryana, Prof. Arvind Tiwari Dean, School of Law, TISS, Mumbai and second panel comprises Dr. Mizanur Rehman, Professor of Law, University of Dhaka & Former Chairman, NHRC, Bangladesh, Prof. Nishtha Jaswal Vice Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla, and Prof. Anand Pawar Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.

Thereafter, the report of the two days conference was announced by Shilpa Jain Convener of the conference. Then the chief guest Justice Prakash Shrivastava, announced the Best Paper Presenter Awards before the audience. More than 100 papers were received out of which only Top 10 papers were selected. Out of which 2 best paper were awarded to presenters, namely, Karan Godera, Punjab University and Adithya Anil Variath, DNLU, they have received the amount of 10 thousand and awarded with certificate.
