Haryana recorded 148 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the infection tally in the State to 2,70,411, a health department bulletin said. One more Covid-19 death was reported over the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 3044. Of the 148 fresh cases, 29 were reported from Gurugram, 30 from Karnal, 23 from Kurukshetra and 21 from Panchkula, the bulletin said. While there are 1103 active cases in Haryana, 2,66,264 people have recovered from the infection so far. The recovery rate is 98.47 percent.
Meanwhile, union territory of Chandigarh on Friday reported 69 fresh COVID-19 cases. With this, the active cases crossed 300-mark in the city. The total tally stood at 21659 in the city while the active cases were 322, according to the Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.
The positive cases have surged by more than 100 percent in the city in less than a week’s time. 26 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 20986, it stated.
