Under Gamak series, Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Akademi organised a musical evening on Wednesday.
Sarangi recital by Salman Khan and group of Gwalior and Prafulla Singh Gehlot, Anushka Joshi and Kritika Binjwa of Dewas and Kathak trilogy was performed by colleagues.The programme was broadcasted live on the Department's YouTube channel.
The presentation started with sarangi recital. Artist Salman Khan presented the composition composed in Raag Jog Delayit Ek Taal and Bandish in Middle, Drut Teen Taal. In the sequel, the artist paused the performance of Mahatma Gandhi's favorite bhajan - Vaishnav Jan To.
On the occasion of the 75th Azadi Amrit Mahotsav. Ustad Abdul Hanif Khan and Shahrukh Khan accompanied Salman on tabla.
The second performance was Kathak trilogy in which artists Praful Singh Gehlot, Anushka Joshi and Kritika Binjwa gave dance performances. The presentation started with the song 'Shi Stuti Shiv Shankar Ka Damru Baje...' by artist Praful Singh Gehlot. This presentation was based on Raag Chandra Kaush, Taal Adha Teen Taal. After this, Thaat, Aamad, Laykari and Maitravarun in Madhyalaya, Dalbadal Bol Bandishe, thirds of the legs were presented in the delayed rhythm.
After this, dance performance was given on fast rhythm Maitravarun, Dalbadal Bol Bandishen Bant and concluded the presentation with Chandravadan Mriglochan Damini Gauri...., composed by Raja Chakradhar Maharaj. He was accompanied by Jagdish Baroth on singing and sarangi, Bharat Baroth on tabla.
