All India Congress Committee (AICC) has entrusted important responsibility to the Congress leaders of Jharkhand for the assembly elections in West Bengal. Senior leaders of Jharkhand have been deployed in various areas of West Bengal including Jharkhand Health Minister, Banna Gupta.

Gupta will work for the party candidates in Purulia district. Apart from this, former Chairman of Pollution Board Mani Shankar has been given the responsibility of Bankura district. Deepika Pandey Singh has been given the responsibility in different areas of Birbhum, while Anup Singh will be active in the Western Vardhaman.

Along with campaigning in the respective districts and localities, these leaders have to continuously camp and create an atmosphere for the party candidates. The leaders who are given the responsibility represent the Legislative Assembly in all the districts adjoining West Bengal.

AICC General Secretary, KC Venugopal has nominated all these leaders as observers and has given responsibility to 28 senior leaders from all over the country to work for party candidates in their respective areas. MLA Deepika Pandey Singh has been made a member of the screening committee for the selection of Congress candidates for the assembly elections in Assam. According to the letter issued from the committee, Prithviraj Chavan has been appointed as the Chairman of the screening committee while Kamleshwar Patel has been included in the committee as a member. Venugopal, while issuing a letter related to this, has also informed about the involvement of six local members in the committee. It includes the names of Union General Secretary Jitendra Singh, Assam Congress Legislature Party leader, Devavrata Saikia and others.

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said that it is a matter of pride for the Jharkhand Congress that many senior leaders from the State, including JPCC Chief, Dr Rameshwar Oraon, Congress Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam, Executive President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Rajesh Thakur, Dr Durfan Ansari, Manas Sinha, Sanjay Lal Paswan, Zonal Co-Ordinator Rama Khalkho, Ashok Chaudhary, Sultan Ahmed, Bhim Kumar and others have

got duty to work for the party in elections.
