nPolice on Saturday arrested a 40-year-old man for killing his sister-in-law (brother’s wife) and her mother over a property dispute in a village near Urla Industrial area on the outskirts of Raipur. His father was also arrested.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav told The Pioneer that both Bhagat Ram Tandon (40) and his father Ramsahay Tandon (80) have been charged with murder.
They had a running dispute over an ancestral property.
On Saturday morning, Bhagat Ram entered into an argument with his sister-in-law Sunita over constructing a septic tank outside her house.
During the row, he attacked Sunita with a spade. When Sunita's mother Kamla Bai Gendre tried to stop him, Bhagat Ram attacked her too in a fit of rage. Both women were killed.
The villagers informed the police, who arrested Bhagat Ram. His father was also taken into custody for instigating his son.
