Crude oil futures gain on spot demand

Crude oil prices on Wednesday rose by Rs 102 to Rs 8,614 per barrel as participants widened positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for June delivery traded higher by Rs 102 or 1.2 per cent at Rs 8,614 per barrel in 6,907 lots. Analysts said the raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up by 1.03 per cent at $110.90 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 1.03 per cent higher at $114.73 per barrel in New York.
