‘Daman’ movie made tax-free

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced that Odia film ‘Daman’ would be exempted from entertainment tax.

The film, which is based on the Government’s malaria eradication programme, would be totally tax-free during its screening in cinema theatres, said a Chief Minister’s Office release. 

The movie’s content is based on the real-life struggle of a young doctor providing healthcare in the remote and inaccessible areas of Malkangiri district, which has set a new example of humanity.

“If all departments work with proper coordination as during the Covid-19 pandemic, we can build a strong and healthy society,” the Chief Minister said.
