An orientation programme on Mission Vatsalya, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) of Children Act and other laws for protection of Children was held here. Coordinator of Childline, Superintendents and Officer in Charge of Child Care Institutions attended the programme.
ADM, Puri, Pradip Kumar Sahoo inaugurated the programme and urged the stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner for the best interest of children and protection of their rights.
Chairperson CWC Puri Mahabir Rudranarayan Sahoo, Member JJB Puri Bijayananda Mishra and DSP Puri Manobrata Satapathy joined as guests and narrated their views and experience.
DCPO, Puri, Manoj Kumar Tripathy welcomed the participants. Eminent resource persons namely Joint Director, Public Prosecution, Bhubaneswar, Jameswar Mishra and DSP-BPSPO, Bhubaneswar Guruprasad Sibasankar Mishra imparted training on different laws for protection of children, coordination and convergence, role and responsibility of special juvenile police unit.
Legal Probation Officer Santosh Kumar Sahu deliberated on victim’s compensation scheme, functioning of JJB and Children’s Court.
Protection Officer of DCPU Subhanarayan Satapathy, Member CWC Ramashankar Patra, Member JJB Anjali Nayak, Director, Childline Debasish Rath, Sumita Ghosh from Action Aid discussed issues and challenges faced by Childline, CWC, JJB, CCI and police.
