Renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Bharti Kashyap and Dr BP Kashyap were felicitated by Indian Medical Association (IMA) by Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, President of Indian Medical Association in a grand ceremony organized Prayagraj (Allahabad).
While, Dr. Bharti Kashyap has been was honored with Kanak Goyal Award and Dr. BP Kashyap was honored with Jyoti Ganguly Award on the first day of the Annual Conference of Indian Medical Association held at Prayagraj.
The IMA highlighted the work done by Dr. B.P. Kashyap in eye treatment. Dr Kashyap has been credited of performing first eye transplant in Jharkhand/Bihar. Dr Kashyap also started the robotic laser cataract surgery and electrophysiology in Jharkhand. Along with this, Dr BP Kashyap also started the DCB course of medical students.
Dr. Bharti Kashyap not only organized cervical and breast cancer eradication camps in the direction of eradication of women's cancer and eradicated cervical pre-cancer by CRY treatment in the camp itself, but she has also trained large number of government gynecologists. Dr Bharti Kashyap helped the government in preparing Cervical pre-cancer treatment machines been installed in 12 major government hospitals.
Thousands of women have received free treatment for diseases like anemia and leucorrhoea in mega women's health camps being organized since 2015. Under the Eye Protection Campaign, Kashyap memorial hospital examines 20 lakh government school children and provided spectacles to the children who had left the school suffering from cataract and got them started school again after surgery. Every year since 2005, the eye donation campaign Run for Vision is being organized continuously.
