Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank did maximum eye transplant in Jharkhand
Under the 38th National Eye Donation Fortnight, a painting competition based on eye donation awareness was organized by Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank at Ursuline Convent School here on Monday. Girls of classes 11 and 12 of Ursuline Convent School participated in this painting competition. The winners of this painting competition will be honoured in the program of “Blind Folded Run for Vision” to be held on 08 September 2023 at Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, Khelgaon, Ranchi.
Eye donation awareness lectures are being delivered continuously by Dr. Nidhi Gadkar Kashyap and Dr. Pooja, corneal transplant specialists from Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital and many other schools including Ursuline Convent School.
Dr. Bharti Kashyap, Medical Director, Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank said, “Run for Vision is being organized once again by Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank in the 38th National Eye Donation Fortnight. Since 2005, Run for Vision is being organized continuously for eye donation awareness, in which children and dignitaries of Ranchi run for eye donation awareness. This run gives the message of eye donation in a very sensitive way.
It may be noted that the first eye transplant of Jharkhand-Bihar was done by the founder of Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank, Jharkhand, Dr. B. P. Kashyap and Dr. Bharti Kashyap. So far 795 eye transplants have been done by Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank. In the last 5 years we have performed 334 eye transplants. Since 2022 till now KMEH has done 148 eye transplants. All this has been possible because of the team of doctors trained in eye transplant under the leadership of Dr. Nidhi Gadkar Kashyap of Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital.
