VIT Bhopal University organised its 4th Annual Convocation on 08th October, 2023, and 1256 graduands were conferred with the degree in this Convocation. Dr. G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT Bhopal, presided over the function and declared the convocation ceremony open. In his presidential address, he congratulated the students for their achievements in the placement drive.
He mentioned that VIT is contributing to the improvement of the educational health of Madhya Pradesh and this will help in making the state developed. He commended the initiatives of the VIT Bhopal for introducing several future-ready programmes. The Chief Guest Justice Anil Verma, Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh Bench at Indore, delivered the Convocation address, appreciated the innovative teaching methodologies, and advanced curriculum designs followed at VIT Bhopal.
The Guest of Honour, Rajeev Verma, Director of Samsung Electronics, Bangalore, has appreciated the personalized attention given to the students during their studies and placements at VIT Bhopal. He urged the students to be ready for the challenges ahead and work hard to achieve all success.Assistant Vice President, VIT Bhopal Ms. Kadhambari S Viswanathan stated that it has been a tremendous journey starting from 2017 with 383 students and 32 faculties at campus to till date when more than 10000 students with 100% doctoral faculties have put their faith in us and participating in our commitment of transforming higher education.
In the current graduating B.Tech. 2019 – 2023 batch, VIT Bhopal achieved 90.5 % placement with a top package of 59 LPA.
Total 27 students have achieved 20 LPA+ packages and 93+ students got above 15 Lakhs per annum. 60% of the placed students received Dream or Super Dream offers. We secured international offers from Human Resourcia, Japan for the second year in a row. For the Class of 2024 despite the recession, we have kept pace with our past records. Placements have begun with 400 students already placed and a top package of 52 LPA+. 212+ students have secured super dream offers in these 400 students.
We have achieved Microsoft placement for the 4th year in a row which shows our consistency. VIT Bhopal has also established collaborative academic programs with foreign universities, providing international exposure and enriching research opportunities.She said that to uplift the marginalized section in Madhya Pradesh VIT Bhopal has launched STARS (Support the Advancement of Rural Students) Scheme under which 100 Boys and 76 Girls, district toppers from MP Govt. Schools, are getting free education and free boarding facilities, and thus is contributing in realizing the goal - “Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh”. In the recent placement drive all registered STARS scheme students secured placements.
This year's Microsoft Placement was achieved by a STAR student from the 5 year Integrated M Tech branch. The Chancellor administered the pledge. Chancellor, Dr G Viswanathan, Vice President, Shri Sankar Viswanathan, Assistant Vice President Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan, and Trustee Mrs. Ramani Balasundaram, the Chief Guest Justice Anil Verma and the Guest of Honour, Rajeev Verma presented a total of 16 Gold Medals to Toppers from various programmes and Rank Certificates to 45 meritorious students.
