Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan held a meeting with representatives of recognized national political parties at Nirvachan Sadan, Bhopal on Thursday. Information was given about the preparations being made ṣor the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023 and the nominations received till October 25.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Kumar Kaul, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Rakesh Singh, Ruchika Chauhan, Basant Kurre, Shri Manoj Khatri, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Pramod Shukla, SS Uppal from Bharatiya Janata Party. JP Dhanopia from Indian National Congress. CL Gautam from Bahujan Samaj Party, Sumit Singh Chauhan from Aam Aadmi Party PV Ramachandran from Communist Party of India (Marxist) were present.

Shri Rajan said that seizure action of more than Rs 140 crore has been taken by joint teams in the state. This includes seizure of money, illicit liquor, drugs, precious metals, gold, silver, jewelery and various types of materials.

152 general observers, 35 police observers and 102 expenditure observers have been appointed in the state. Till October 25, 290 candidates have submitted 327 nomination papers.

Shri Rajan said that apart from the Voter ID card, voters will be able to vote on the basis of 12 alternative documents recognized by the Election Commission of India. Voter slips and voter guides will be distributed to voters. This time QR code will be used in the voter slip.

Arrangements for ramps, electricity, water, furniture, help desks, toilets and proper signage have been made at polling booths. Shri Rajan said that senior voters above 80 years of age and voters with more than 40 percent disability have been provided easy facility to vote from home. Under this, 1 lakh 18 thousand 687 applications for 12D have been received in the state. Before voting, the candidate will be given information about the route chart.

Every candidate will have to fill and provide an affidavit in the prescribed form along with nomination. The candidate will have to give information about criminal cases. For this, the candidate will have to get it published in newspapers and broadcast on news channels on three different dates, so that voters can know about the background of such candidates.
