Coal mafias attack police team in Garhwa

Manjhiaon CO Ramji Prasad Gupta, who went to raid against illegal sand mining and transportation at Koyal River band in Budhi Khad village of Manjhiaon police station area of Garhwa district, was attacked by mafias.  Three people, including the CO's private driver and servant, were injured in the attack.  Villagers thrashed them in Budhikhand.  During this the CO and his  Guard Surya Keshwar Kumar Ravi were some distance away, due to which both narrowly escaped. 

 Private servant of CO, Ashish Kumar Thakur (24 years), resident of Purhe village, Nitesh Kumar Thakur (25 years)and Birendra Vishwakarma (26 years),  were injured in the attack.  All three were sent to the referral hospital.  From where Ashish was referred to Garhwa Sadar Hospital for better treatment in view of his critical condition.

During this, the CO called the police by sending the circle guard who came with him.  As soon as the information was received here, station in-charge Kamlesh Kumar Mahato, who came with the police force, arrested Baban Yadav who involved in attack. 

On the base of the complaint of CO police registered a case against   four named including Baban Yadav and  30-40 unknown people.  

Following the attack  CO Ramji Prasad Gupta, Sub-Divisional Officer Garhwa Raj Maheshwaram and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Garhwa Awadh Kumar Yadav jointly conducted a raid  at various sand ghats of Manjhiyaon and Salga of Bardiha, in which all the accused were found absconding from the spot.

 During the return after the raid operation, two brick kilns being illegally operated by Santosh Kumar Singh in Bakoiya of Manjhiaon block were demolished under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Officer Garhwa.
