Constable assaulted by liquormen, Ayodhya Nagar SHO suspended

Ayodhya Nagar police station in-charge was suspended by Bhopal police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra after a constable, who had gone to close the liquor shop  was assaulted with sticks by the shop employees at liquor shop, constable sustained injuries on his hand, leg, head and face.

The incident was reported in the night on Tuesday under Ayodhya Nagar police station area. Its video has also surfaced in which the accused are seen attacking a constable.

Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari told that station in-charge Ritesh Sharma has been suspended on Wednesday. He has been considered responsible for keeping the liquor shop open in the police station area after the allowed permissible time. A letter will be written to the Excise Department for action on the liquor shop and will be asked to take action against the shop for violating the rules.

Police said that constable Kalyan Singh of Ayodhya Nagar police station reached at 12.30 on Tuesday night and asked them to close liquor shop where shop employees Ajit Dubey, Sachin Shandilya and Amit Pandey were found drinking liquor by keeping it on the bonnet of the car. The constable asked Ajay, the driver of Dial 100, to click photographs to keep this action of the staff as evidence which made  Amit angry and he started abusing and threatening.

Constable Kalyan Singh told the police that when the accused were asked to close the shop and not drink alcohol, all of them started misbehaving. Amit, one of the accused, said that he comes everyday to get the shop closed.  Amit took out a stick from the car and hit him on the head. Ajit also attacked with a stick hitting him on the face.

Ayodhya Nagar police station said that the police force was sent as soon as the information about the incident was received. Spotting the police force that reached the spot, Amit, who was among the accused, escaped the spot. Ajit and Sachin were caught and brought to the police station. A case has been registered against the accused in other sections including attempt to murder,  obstructing any public servant in the discharge of duty, assault.
