Dr Neelesh Shrivastava, of the Department of Surgical Oncology, AIIMS, Bhopal presented his insights on "Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Breast Cancer - Technique and Future Aspects" during the "Early Breast Cancer - Care and Cure" Continuing Medical Education (CME) event. The prestigious CME was hosted by the Department of General Surgery at Shyam Shah Medical College (SSMC). The event, organized in collaboration with the Association of Breast Cancer India (ABSI) and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), was a remarkable gathering of medical professionals and experts. The event held recently at Awadhesh Pratap Singh University (APSU), REWA, M.P., was aimed at highlighting the latest trends and advancements in the field of early breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Shrivastava's talk on sentinel lymph node biopsy provided valuable insights into the technique and future prospects of this vital procedure in breast cancer management. Sentinel lymph node biopsy is an essential component of breast cancer care, serving as a minimally invasive technique to determine whether cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. Dr. Shrivastava's presentation addressed the current techniques and emerging trends in this procedure, shedding light on its significance in improving patient outcomes and reducing the morbidity associated with traditional lymph node dissections.
Moreover, Dr. Shrivastava also chaired a scientific session during the CME, where he introduced and moderated a presentation by Dr. Anand Mishra from KGMU Lucknow, who spoke on "Management of Locoregional Recurrence in Early Breast Cancer."
