CM Khattar thanks PM, Union Cabinet for approval of new metro line from HUDA City Centre to Cyber City, Gurugram

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Cabinet for the approval of a new metro line from HUDA City Centre to Cyber City, Gurugram as well as a spur line connecting the Dwarka Expressway. The project will cost Rs 5,452 crore. This elevated route will be 28.50 km long and will have 27 stations. Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC) will implement the project. At present there is no metro line in Old Gurugram. The construction of this line will connect New Gurugram with Old Gurugram. It would also help to improve traffic flow and increase employment opportunities in the NCR region, said a government spokesperson.

HAFED records impressive profit of Rs 207 crore
 

Chandigarh: Haryana Cooperation Minister Banwari Lal on Wednesday said that Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (HAFED) has secured a substantial order to export 65 thousand metric tonnes of rice in the current year. In an interaction with media persons, he said that HAFED has achieved a profit of Rs 207 crore during the fiscal year 2021-22, with a turnover of Rs 1700 crore. This significant achievement includes the successful export of 20 thousand metric tonnes of rice.


Chd Mayor inaugurates permanent ‘RRR Centre’ at Sector 17

Chandigarh:  Working towards better management and promotion of the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, Anup Gupta, Chandigarh Mayor on Wednesday inaugurated a permanent RRR Centre at the new bridge market, Sector 17 in the presence of Kanwarjit Singh Rana, Senior Deputy Mayor, other councilors and officers of MCC, office bearers of Market Welfare Associations, Sector 17 and prominent persons of the area. Having four different shops for clothes, books, shoes, electronic items etc, the RRR store will remain open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm daily from Tuesday to Sunday and will remain closed on Monday.

CDP to transform horticulture ecosystem of Himacal: CM

Shimla: The Cluster Development Programme (CDP) has great potential to transform the entire horticulture ecosystem by creating last-mile connectivity with the use of multimode transport for efficient and timely evacuation and transportation of horticulture produce. The CDP will also create cluster-specific brands, while helping the economy, to integrate them into national and global value chains, thereby providing higher remuneration to farmers.  The cluster-based approach in horticulture crops will facilitate production, post-harvest management, marketing and branding of crops. It will reduce post-harvest losses and ensure better price of their produce to the farmers and establish new dimensions in the field of horticulture in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said in a statement.
The state government is mulling to implement this program successfully to improve crop production and create cluster-specific brands to enhance the competitiveness of cluster crops, he said.

Punjab Govt invites applications for PPSC chairman till Jun 21

Chandigarh: Punjab Government has invited applications for filling up the post of Punjab Public Service Commission chairman. The Government’s Personnel Department spokesperson said that eminent persons having impeccable integrity, high caliber, and administrative experience can apply for the post of PPSC chairman, and the last date to apply is June 21, 2023. A search committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, has been formed which will be considered by the High Empowered Committee chaired by the Chief Minister after shortlisting the names from the applications received. Spokesperson said that there should be no civil, criminal, administrative, or any other proceeding pending against the applicant, has minimum 10 years of working experience under Government of India or State Government, and age should be less than 62 years as on the last date of submission of application.

Punjab Minister hands over appointment letters to 134 employees
 


Chandigarh: Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 134 newly-recruited employees in the Department. Congratulating the newly-inducted employees, the Minister exhorted them to work with missionary zeal for empowering the needy women of rural areas by providing them benefits of government financial schemes for creating self-employment opportunities. “Punjab State Rural Livelihoods Mission (PSRLM) provides employment opportunities to poor rural women, and newly-inducted employees will contribute for smooth implementation of the scheme at the village level besides sensitizing needy women,” he said.

Region gets comprehensive spine injury unit

Chandigarh: Trinity Hospital and Medical Research Institute has launched its Spine and Neuro Rehabilitation Centre and Ortho and Sports Rehabilitation Centre in Zirakpur. Institute chairman and Department of Orthopaedics Zirakpur and Chandigarh Dr Mohinder Kaushal said: “Spinal Cord Injuries are known for their profound impact, causing significant social, economic, psychological, and physical consequences...Through our comprehensive rehabilitation programs, we address the specific needs and severity of each patient's condition,.”
