PM Modi dedicates 10,000th Jan Aushadi Kendra at Deoghar

In a significant move towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Deoghar AIIMS through online proceedings from Delhi today. Strategically located adjacent to Amrit Pharmacy in the Deoghar AIIMS campus, the PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra is poised to offer a wide array of medicines at affordable rates.

The Deoghar centre is 10,000th Jan Aushadi Kendra at AIIMS, Deoghar. Further, Modi also launched the program to increase the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the country from 10,000 to 25,000.

The Prime Minister initiated the interaction with the beneficiary and operator of Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS Deoghar, Ruchi Kumari. The Prime Minister congratulated her on starting the 10,000th Jan Aushadhi Kendra, expressing happiness about this milestone being achieved in Baba Dham Deoghar. On being enquired about her decision regarding a Jan Aushadhi Kendra, she narrated her interaction with poor and middle class and acutely felt the need for affordable medicines as medicine that is available in market for 100 rupees is often available at the Kendra for 10 to 50 rupees. He also touched upon creating awareness about Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the region and was informed by Ruchi about the use of social media for the propagation of the scheme.

Beneficiary of the Jan Aushadhi Yojna, Sona Mishra informed the Prime Minister that he managed to save roughly 10,000 rupees per month by purchasing medicines at cheaper prices from the Jan Aushadhi Kendra. The Prime Minister suggested Shri Mishra put up a board at his shop about his experiences of Jan Aushadhi Kendra and emphasized spreading awareness about the availability of cheaper medicines.

Godda MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey had advocated for setting up Jan Aushadhi Kendra, the Union Health Ministry has given the green light for the establishment of the PM Jan Aushadhi Center in Deoghar AIIMS. Ravidadichi, CEO of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), conveyed this approval in a letter to MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey and the AIIMS Director. The inauguration ceremony, marking the launch of the 10,000th PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra in the country, will be conducted via video conferencing.

Godda MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey was present at the Deoghar AIIMS function. CEO Ravi has instructed the AIIMS Director to collaborate with the Nodal Officer of PMBI to ensure all preparations are in place for the inauguration ceremony.

Expressing his satisfaction, MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey shared that his request to Union Health Minister Mansukhmandaviya for the establishment of a Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Deoghar had been met with serious consideration. With the inauguration of the PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra on November 30, patients will experience relief from long queues at Amrit Pharmacy, and medicines will be available at significantly reduced rates, offering discounts ranging from 50 to 90 percent.
The PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra at Deoghar AIIMS will stock a comprehensive range of 1600 medicines, including government generic medicines, along with approximately 900 surgical items. Jharkhand Nodal Officer of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra, Sumit Pandey, highlighted that patients will benefit from substantial discounts, ranging from 50 to 90 percent, making this facility a vital contributor to affordable healthcare solutions.

This modern and well-equipped Jan Aushadhi Kendra is poised to become a cornerstone in healthcare services throughout Jharkhand, operating 24 hours once emergency services commence at Deoghar AIIMS. Presently, in alignment with the OPD schedule, the Jan Aushadhi Kendra will be open to serve the community.
