With a joint efforts of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Dhanbad, on Saturday, tribal boy Ravi Kumar Mohali was finally reunited with his family after twelve years.

The child was recognized by his aunt Bijli Devi and after meeting both of them hugged and started crying. The child's father Dilip Mohali died in a train accident a few years ago  at Pradhankhant statiln and   his mother Sridevi too left him.

Giving information about the reunion ,  Dhanbad CWC President Uttam Kumar Mukherjee said that under the Juvenile Justice Act, as part of an effort to reunite the separated children with their families, the child was reunited with his aunt with the help of  prominanat  local  people of the society and the local police station. The paper work was completed    in their  presence  and  after this, the biy  was handed over to aunt Bijli Devi. Aunt is happy to have the child of his brother  after a long gap..

CWC President said that Ravi was recovered by the Railway Police after his father's death and was kept in Sahyog Village, Bokaro.

The team that went to meet the family has assured the child's aunt that other suitable   measures will be taken if she faces any problem  to support the child.

In the case of two other children, the committee though  found the families of the children but in both case  their families refused to accept them and keep them.

Among these, one seven year old boy is a resident of Kurchi village of Govindpur police station and the other is of Kharakabad village under the same police station.

The boy from Kurchi village was sent from Patna shelter home to Dhanbad to meet his family.

The boy from Khadakabad village recognized his grandfather's house but his family members refused to recognize him. The main reason for this is said to be that  his mother married  a man from another  had performed  intereligion marriage and had left home . Later, the  father too abandoned this child.

Mukharjee sais in both  cases, the families have been instructed to complete all the needed  paperwork aa per JJ Act  so that they can be declared legally eligible for adoption.

Dhanbad DCPO Sadhna Kumari, members of Child Helpline and Rohit Kumar and Akhilesh Pandey of Sahyog Village and local police station and prominent  people were present during  this entire process, said Mukharjee .
