VP exhorts students to become a part of ‘Rising India’

Addressing the students on the occasion of the 43rd Convocation Ceremony of IIT-ISM Dhanbad on Sunday Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar urged the students to be a part of Rising India. In his insightful speech as the Chief Guest of the programme Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar congratulated the all degree recipients and encouraged students to be a part of the rising India with their innovative ideas. He emphasized on Rising Bharat with youth taking the front lead.

 

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad organized its 43rd Convocation on 10 December, 2023, Sunday, at Penmen Auditorium of the institute. Governor of Jharkhand, C. P. Radhakrishnan was the Guest of Honour on the occasion, while State Health Minister Banna Gupta was the Special Guest. Prof. Prem Vrat, Chairperson, BOG, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad and Prof. J K Pattanayak, Director, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad along with other distinguished guests, faculty members of the Institute, parents and the degree recipients graced the occasion.

 

A total of 1919 recipients were awarded the degrees for the academic year 2022-23 in the convocation ceremony.

 

Addressing the students, Governor CP Radhakrishnan said that it is a matter of great pride that IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has been a beacon of excellence, consistently setting benchmarks and pushing the boundaries of knowledge and technological advancement. The alumni of this prestigious institution have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields, leaving an indelible mark on the world.

 

He said that the young, bright, and happy faces that I see in front of me represent the hope and strength of our nation. The journey you have undertaken during your time at this institution has not only equipped you with knowledge but has also fostered critical thinking and a spirit of innovation. Remember that education is not merely a degree but a lifelong pursuit. Seize every opportunity to learn, grow, and adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of your chosen field. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India became currently the fifth largest economy in the world.

 

“My dear students, I request you to use your educational skill not only to shape your careers but also to contribute to the betterment of society. You all are privileged to be a graduate of one of the premier educational institutions in our country. There are several youths who, due to poverty, are unable to pursue higher education,” he said.

 

“I wish all the students a bright future ahead. Once again, I am grateful to the most respected Hon'bleVice President for his gracious presence in this convocation. His encouraging words will work wonders in shaping the life of our students,” said the Governor.
