SRM IST ALUMNI FETCH $4,70,000 FUNDING

Eight years after graduating from the portals of SRM IST — India's pre-eminent destination for higher learning in technology, management, science, arts, and medicine — and four years after launching their independent venture, a team of SRM alumni's work on an innovative powertrain component is all set to revolutionise e-mobility sphere. Torus Robotics — started by M Vignesh, Vibhakar Senthil Kumar, and K Abhi Vignesh — who graduated from SRM IST after specialising in Mechatronics — has designed and developed powertrain motors and components that are more powerful, and efficient. Their tireless work in design, development, and testing over the years with a single-minded devotion and focus has resulted in the company securing a seed investment of $ 4,70,000 during a round led by Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Corporation (TNIFMC)under Tamil Nadu Emerging Sector Seed Fund (TNESEF).

 

Korean delegation applauds Cottage Collection

Zena Chung, Founder President, Indo-Korea Business Culture Centre (IKBCC) and Economic Trade policy advisor for Gyeongsangbuk-do province of South Korea along with Heikki Ranta Chairman, Finncham Korea, visited the Cottage at Janpath and appreciated the efforts of the Cottage  in showcasing diverse range of art and craft from different parts of India in a elegant display and stated that they recommend the Cottage  as  a one stop destination of authentic Handicrafts and Souvenirs in India. During their Visit,  Manoj Lal, Managing Director, The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Ltd, highlighted the opportunities for Korean Enterprises to source Indian Handicrafts through the Cottage network across the country.

 

Bhanu brings glory to Lucknow

Bhanu Pratap Singh, a resident of Vanipuram, Lucknow, has made his family, city and his educational institution proud by securing 727th rank in the Civil Services Examination 2023. Bhanu, a resident of Vanipuram, Lucknow, has made his family, city and his educational institution proud. Bhanu, the youngest of the three children of retired Indian Police Service officer Bharat Singh Yadav, had an inclination towards public service through administrative service since childhood. After studying Mechanical Engg. from HBTM Kanpur, Bhanu worked in the technical field and did intensive study to achieve the goal of civil service. Bhanu gives credit for this success to his family and teachers.

 

VITEEE to take place in 125 cities in India, 6 abroad

The VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE), the entrance examination conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for admission to B.Tech. programmes of VIT Group of Institutions-VIT-Vellore, VIT-Chennai, VIT-AP (Amaravati) and VIT-Bhopal, is scheduled from April 19th to 30th, 2024 as Proctored Computer Based Test at 125 cities in India and six cities abroad — Dubai, Muscat, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Applicants from all states and UT of India can participate in VITEEE-2024. The results will be available tentatively on May 3rd, 2024 on www.vit.ac.in and on the same day online counselling process will begin. Applicants within 1 lakh ranks are eligible to participate in the counselling for admission to B. Tech. programmes of all campuses of VIT-Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal.
