Tuesday, 09 April 2024 | Saugar Sengupta | Kolkata

BJP leader and party's candidate from Barrackpore Parliamentary constituency Arjun Singh on Monday brought serious allegations against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee saying government jobs were not only sold during her Chief Ministership but those were sold when she was the Railway Minister of India.

Addressing an rally Singh who had recently rejoined the BJP after being denied a ticket by the TMC, said, "recruitment scam that you are seeing today in Bengal is nothing new … they had started long ago … I have information that when Mamata Banerjee was the Railways Minister railway jobs were sold right here … boards were advertised citing the rate of jobs."

Saying that his party would take up the issue and start a protest movement seeking investigation into the alleged railway job scam, Singh said, "we will start a movement against this recruitment scam until things are brought to the fore and the guilty are not arrested."
