Chhattisgarh Police has arrested 42 people and seized 558 litres of liquor valued at Rs 1,23,640 in a drive against illegal liquor in Mahasamund district.
The police arrested 11 persons in Basna, 10 men in Bagbahara, five in Saraipali, four each in Pithora and Tendukona, two each in Patewa, Sankara and Singhoda and one each in Baloda and Mahasamund between March 28 and March 30 in the district after model code of conduct was enforced ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, an official statement said.
