Centre provides additional 150 MW of electricity to U’khand for summers

Thursday, 21 March 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

In a major relief to Uttarakhand the union government has allotted an additional quota of 150 MW of electricity for the state for the summer months. The quota allotted for the period April 1 to June 30 will help the State power corporation to make the supplies of the electricity regular during the summers when the demand peaks up.

Prior to this the union government had provided an additional quota of the electricity on September 19, 2023 for the months of October to March.

In view of the expected shortfall in the supply and increased demand during the summers the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had requested from the union power minister R K Singh that an additional quota of electricity should be provided to the State. The CM has expressed gratitude to the Union government for allotting additional 150 MW of electricity to the State.
