A well decked up chariot named ‘Ram Rath’ will go around Chhattisgarh collecting messages to Lord Ram in Ayodhya.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday ceremoniously flagged off the chariot at the State Guest House Pahuna. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was with him.
Both Sai and Sharma also extended their wishes with handwritten 'Jai Shri Ram' messages in letters, which were placed in the Rath destined for Ayodhya.
The students of Raipur Convent School contributed by dropping their messages in the drop box. The 'Ek Chitthi Siyaram Ke Naam' campaign is being conducted under the aegis of a private FM radio channel.
As part of this initiative, the Rath will traverse the state, collecting written messages in the form of letters from residents. These will be presented to Lord Ram in Ayodhya. In return, the Rath will bring back soil and 'prasad' from Ayodhya.
