DC Bokaro-led panel initiates inquiry amid allegations against Bokaro's  private school

Friday, 12 April 2024 | PNS | BOKARO

In a recent development, allegations of unethical practices have surfaced against several schools of Bokaro in the region , leading to the formation of an inquiry committee  headed by the Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav along with the co-chairmanship of the District Education Officer. The allegations primarily revolve around two main issues as arbitrary fee hikes and fraudulent credentials.

Jharkhand Parent associations Mahendra Rai, a member of committee representing parents , has accused schools including Saint Xavier School in Sector-1, MGM Higher Secondary School in Sector-4, Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Sector 5, and Delhi Public School in Sector 4 of arbitrarily increasing annual fees by 20% and mandating the purchase of textbooks from nominated bookstores, without any transparent rationale.

Additionally, Crescents public school in Sector-6, Mithila Academy Public School in Sector-4, and Sardar Patel Public School in Sector-9 are under scrutiny for allegedly presenting counterfeit documents to obtain accreditation from the CBSE.

To address these serious allegations, a district-level committee has been constituted to investigate the claims thoroughly. The committee, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, will convene a hearing at the office premises on April 13, 2024, at 3:00 PM to review the complaints lodged by concerned parents.

In light of these developments, the principals of the implicated schools are requested to provide detailed financial records of the previous academic year's fee structure, along with a list of prescribed textbooks and their publishers, while the principals of Crescent Public School, Mithila Academy Public School, and Sardar Patel Public School are urged to submit authenticated copies of documents submitted for CBSE accreditation.

Notably since the inception of the new DC Vijaya Jadhav, revolutionary steps have been taken to enhance the district's educational system in all aspects. These steps may include initiatives to improve infrastructure, enhance teaching methodologies, provide better resources for students, and promote overall excellence in education. By implementing innovative measures, the DC aims to create a conducive environment for learning and development, ultimately benefiting the entire community.
