Govardhan Thakur, the father of Gopal Thakur, Secretary of the District Olympic Association and President of the Bokaro District Kabaddi Association, passed away unexpectedly due to a heart attack on Wednesday. The late Thakur leaves behind his wife Kalyani Devi, sons Gopal Thakur and Shyamal Thakur, and daughter Anita Kumari. The final rites of Govardhan Thakur were conducted on Wednesday afternoon at Banshimli Garghat. The sudden demise has cast a pall of gloom over the sporting community in the district.
