Former Dy Mayor Manoj Wadhwa resigns from BJP; likely to join Cong & contest against Hry CM Saini


Karnal: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Mayor Manoj Wadhwa resigned from the primary membership of the party on Wednesday. He has tendered his resignation to the party state president and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and district president Yogendra Rana. Wadhwa is likely to join the Congress party to contest the upcoming Karnal Assembly by-election against BJP candidate and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Wadhwa had contested assembly elections in 2014 against former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and remained at the third position. Giving a jolt to the INLD in 2019, Wadhwa had joined the BJP. He became a councillor in 2013 and was elected as deputy mayor.

Haryana CM Saini hits campaign trail in Karnal; interacts with voters

Karnal: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini hit the campaign trail in Karnal city for the Lok Sabha and Assembly by- elections on Wednesday. During the campaign, he was advocating dual vote in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly bye-elections, scheduled on May 25. Former CM Manohar Lal Khattar was contesting the Karnal Lok Sabha election, while Saini was hoping for the MLA’s position from the Karnal Assembly seat.  During the campaign, his main focus was on public meetings and personal interaction with the voters. He also reached out to the party leaders and workers in the city. He also attended different religious and social programmes. “I urge people to cast two votes — one for the Lok Sabha seat, which supports Manohar Lal Khattar and, further Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the second for me from the Karnal Assembly segment, on May 25,” Saini added, while seeking support for Khattar and himself.

Rao Inderjit Singh inaugurates BJP office in Sector-15 in Gurugram

Gurugram:  The BJP candidate for the Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency Rao Inderjit Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the party office at Sector-15 in Gurugram. In his address, he said that the public mood ahead of the upcoming general elections is in favour of the BJP. He said that there is huge support among the farmers and the working class for the BJP. "The BJP's aim is the development of every section. There has been tremendous development in every sector in the last 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Rao said. Speaking on the BJP's election manifesto, Rao Inderjit Singh said that it has been drafted keeping in view every section and every person of the country. "Roads, highways and railway networks are getting strengthened in the country as well as the state. Basic facilities are easily available to the people. Under the leadership of PM Modi, India's economy has moved from 11th to fifth place in ten years and in the next five years, India will be the third largest economy in the world," Rao said. Taking a dig at the opposition he said opposition governments did caste politics in Haryana but now the BJP's slogan of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Prayas' is being practiced. He said that there is no challenge to him in the Gurugram Lok Sabha seat.
