JMM suspends rebel MLA Chamra Linda from Party

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) rebel MLA Chamra Linda has been suspended from the party. Besides, he was also relieved from all posts of the party.

 

The party General Secretary, Vinod Pandey has issued a letter related to this. It has been said in the letter that in the Lok Sabha elections, Chamra Linda went against the Grand Alliance and nominated himself as an independent candidate from Lohardaga Lok Sabha constituency. In such a situation, on the instructions of Central Committee Chairman Shibu Soren, he is removed from all the posts of the party. He is also suspended from the membership of the party.

 

Linda is contesting as an independent candidate from the Lohardaga parliamentary seat. However, the party had given him one last chance till the date of withdrawal of nomination but he did not withdraw his name. After which the party took action against Linda and removed her from all posts and also suspended her from the membership of the party. The party has taken this decision in view of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's election meeting in Gumla today.

 

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from Lohardaga, Sudarshan Bhagat from Bharatiya Janata Party, Dr. Rameshwar Oraon from Congress Party and Chamra Linda were in the fray as an independent candidate. This election was won by Sudarshan Bhagat of Bharatiya Janata Party. Chamra Linda was once again in the fray in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. However, at that time he was contesting the elections on an All India Trinamool Congress ticket. Sudarshan Bhagat from Bharatiya Janata Party and Dr. Rameshwar Oraon from Congress Party was in the fray. Sudarshan Bhagat won the election in a very close contest.

 

Chamra Linda contested the Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 2004 as an independent candidate from Lohardaga Lok Sabha seat. In this election, Dr. Rameshwar Oraon was in the fray from Congress Party and Professor Dukha Bhagat from Bharatiya Janata Party. Dr. Rameshwar Oraon had won the 2004 Lok Sabha elections from Lohardaga Lok Sabha seat.
