Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Monday exposed the claims of the Delhi Government that Delhi is getting world-class facilities in education, health and other sectors with figures and sought answers from the Government.  Bidhuri said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal could not answer on any issue.

While replying to the motion of thanks on the Lieutenant Governor’s address, Bidhuri said in the last nine years, the budget of the Delhi government has increased two and a half times but the results of Delhi have declined by 14 percent.

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) allotted land to the government to build 13 schools but not a single school was built. Today, about 7,000 seats of EWS quota are lying vacant in government schools. The government gave loans to only two students for higher education but Rs 19.27 crore was spent on advertisements of this scheme. There is a huge shortage of teachers in schools and the Chief Minister did not ensure the availability of guest teachers even after making a promise, the BJP leader said.

Bidhuri said the condition of the health department is also the same. The date of 2025 is being given for ultrasound in the biggest hospital of Delhi government.

The High Court is asking that there are only 6 CT scan machines for 3 crore people and they too are often out of order. Fake test scams is happening in Mohalla clinics while 75 percent posts of doctors and 20 percent of paramedical posts are lying vacant in hospitals.

Bidhuri said in the LG address, the Kejriwal government has claimed many schemes of the Centre as its own, whereas this is wrong. The Central Government has given free ration to 72, 000 ration card holders, constructed Pragati Maidan tunnel and provided 1,650 electric buses of Delhi. Therefore, this House should thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.

The Leader of Opposition said the Kejriwal Government has failed to provide even clean water to the people of Delhi. No work was done on the plan to bring water from Renuka Dam, Kishau Dam and Lakhwar Vyasi Dam.

Meanewhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said the Delhi governance model is showing direction to the entire country in terms of education, health and electricity. Kejriwal was highlighting the achievements of his government in Delhi in the three sectors during an address in the Assembly.

Before he began, the chief minister asked the members to salute senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, who was arrested the same day last year by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

“The AAP government has undertaken so much work in Delhi that was not done in the last 75 years. Today, the ‘Delhi model’ is showing direction to the entire country. I will talk about three sectors -- health, education and electricity,” he said. Kejriwal said almost four to five lakh students in Delhi have left private schools and sought admissions to government ones.

“If we can provide good education to poor children in Delhi, it can also be done in the country. Why are government schools being closed in different states? The country is moving towards privatisation of education, apart from Delhi. Only Rs 5 lakh crore is needed to provide education to 17 lakh students in the country,” he said.

He also slammed the Ayushman Bharat health scheme insurance as the “biggest scam”. This came a day after Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena asked him to implement the Central scheme here.
