Lifesavers Training Programme for police officers

Manipal Tata Medical College, Jamshedpur and the East Singhbhum Police Department launched a new initiative by offering the police officers of East Singhbhum their practical workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) training. Chief guest Kishore Kaushal (SSP, East Singbhum) accompanied by his wife Dr Astha Raman who is an anaesthesiologist and alumni of KMC Manipal 2008 batch. The function was done under the direction and vision of Dr. G Pradeep Kumar, Dean of MTMC. Since police officers are typically the first to arrive on the scene when a victim falls, the goal of this course was to equip them with the lifesaving skills necessary to act as a lifesaver. 

As the first responders, SSP Kishore Kaushal also underlined the significance of this training for police officers. The training programe was organized at the skills laboratory of Manipal Tata Medical College and was imparted to a total 29 police staff by the able supervision of a medical training team composed of Dr. Ayaskant Sahoo, Dr. Shyamal Maity, Dr. Anjaneyulu Konuri, Dr RajKiran Takharya, Dr. Ravi Kaushal, Dr. Jyotish Guria, Dr. Ratnesh Sinha. The college has plans to provide the training to maximum police officers of Jamshedpur area in near future.
