To resolve the problem arising out of the issue of expansion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, MP Sanjay Seth met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. Seth told the Union Defence Minister that Ranchi Airport is to be expanded. Ranchi Airport has its own land for this. In the year 2007-08, mutation of about 123 acres of land was done in the name of airport. At present, the Indian Army is also calling this land as the land of its records. Seth urged the Union Minister that this is a matter between two ministries. Your intervention is required in this matter. The MP has requested the Union Minister to resolve this matter so that proper development of the airport can take place.
It may be noted that Ranchi Airport is to be expanded but due to lack of land clearance, this matter has been stuck in limbo for the last several years. The airport got the 123 acres of land declared its own and got it rejected, but the land is also being claimed by the Indian Army. In such a situation, this matter is hanging in the balance. Regarding this issue, the local airport management informed the MP about the entire matter. In this light, the MP met the Union Defence Minister and requested for a solution to this problem. After meeting the Union Minister, the MP said that he has to listen to the entire matter seriously and has talked about taking positive action to resolve it.
