Members of the Utkal Sammilani paid tributes to the statue of legendary leader Biju Patnaik on his 108th birth anniversary at the Biju Patnaik Park here on Tuesday.
Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar branch president Dillip Dashsharma presided over the function. Former Assembly Speaker Sarat Kar’s son Sobhan Kar and former Corporator Pamanabh Das were the guests. Utkal Sammilani vice-president Surendra Mishra, branch advisor Nimai Charan Das and vice-president Sital Chandra Mohanty recalled the contributions of Bijubabu and demanded Bharat Ratna to be conferred on him posthumously.
Among others, Pradip Kumar Routray, Siddharth Shankar Gadnayak, Akshay Kumar Jethi, Sanjukta Mohanty, Amulya Swain and Maheswar Biswal were present.
