Gambhir, currently engaged in a prolonged legal battle in the Jharkhand High Court, has been championing the cause for justice in the 1984 Sikh massacre case. His tireless efforts have resulted in the establishment of a one-member Judicial Commission, marking a crucial step towards addressing the long-standing grievances of affected families.

The Commission's formation has initiated the process of compensation to the affected families, offering a glimmer of hope to those who have endured decades of injustice.
