Six held for cheating man of Rs 1.29 crore

Chhattisgarh Police on Monday arrested six persons from Uttar Pradesh for cheating an elderly man of Rs 1.29 crores by promising him higher interest through share trading. Two other accused are absconding.

Akash Chauhan (23), Shivam Yadav, Babu Raikbar, Gaurav Singh Parmar, all aged 24, Amit Yadav (25) and Digvijay Singh Bundela (28) from Madhya Pradesh have been taken into custody, Durg Superintendent of Police Jitendra Shukla said.

Rohit Baghel (62) of Padmanabhpur in Durg city lodged a cheating case last month.

Based on bank accounts and call details, the men were nabbed from a residential apartment in Jhansi.

The police seized 19 SIM cards, 17 mobile phones, ATM cards, two cars as well as gold and silver ornaments bought from cheated money from them.
