Tewari meets Housing Board occupants; Promises to address their concerns

Congress candidate from Chandigarh parliamentary constituency Manish Tewari on Monday promised to put an end to continuous harassment suffered by about two lakh residents living in Chandigarh Housing Board colonies. “They deserve to live in peace”, he remarked, while assuring end to their continuous harassment.  Interacting with a delegation of the Housing Board occupants, Tewari said, the INDIA government will bring a parliamentary act for one time settlement on Delhi pattern, for all the pending issues concerning all the residents to ensure that there is no further and undue harassment faced by the residents. The former union minister observed that it was unfortunate that the issue has been hanging fire for such a long time. He said, there will be a complete end to the bureaucratic and clerical harassment of the residents. “You deserve to live in peace free from any clerical hassle or harassment”, he assured the residents, who wanted that there should be one time settlement on the Delhi pattern. As part of his continued public outreach campaign, Tewari participated in a ‘padyatra’ in Sector 37. Addressing a public meeting in Sector 38, Tewari said he was seized of the problems being faced by the city. He promised that Chandigarh’s developmental plan will be based on its current and futuristic needs.

BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Chandigarh Sanjay Tandon on Monday addressed Jansabha and public meetings in sector 21, Manimajra, Sector 19 and Mauli Jagran Part II. Tandon in his address said, “The Congress candidate represented Anandpur Sahib before being nominated on the Congress ticket from Chandigarh. However, he didn’t do anything for Anandpur Sahib and I have learnt that the Congress candidate in Anandpur Sahib is clueless about any development done by his predecessor.” Tandon also addressed a Jansabha at Govind Pura, Manimajra. Tandon said, “As the Congress candidate has nothing much to show as far as development works in Anandpur Sahib go, please don’t expect him to do anything for Chandigarh. He is an outsider and beware of him.”
Tandon said, “The Modi government has provided relief to the people by successfully establishing and running 21 metros across the country and now the 22nd metro will be set up in the ‘City Beautiful’. I assure you that on assuming power the double engine BJP government - BJP in Chandigarh and also at the centre will help in establishing a Metro in Chandigarh.”
